The Lloyd family is the branch of my family that has been in America the longest, three of the branches arriving in the 1600s-early/mid 1700s, the Lloyds were the latecomers, arriving in 1824. The Lloyd branch was of English and Welsh descent. The Reed branch descended from English, Dutch and French settles of New York and New Jersey. The Allen branch descended from English settlers from Virginia. The Clifford branch descended from English and Scottish settlers from New England, Maryland and Virginia. As the various branches of the Lloyd family made their way across the county to Wisconsin they predominantly resided in the states of New York, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois and Missouri.
